Not firing on all cylinders at the moment, has taken me a while to get to grips with the sections needed and a good source for the more complex shapes.

Majority of the arches is flat panel or single curves, the only problem shape being the ball shape at the top corners,  could possibly use top corners from a small van roof, but I think a better source of sections might be a door, bottom inside would provide the ball sections and hopefully other curves could be cut from the structure, with door skin providing the flat infill pieces

Imagine the door being upside down

Hope I have explained what I mean in a way that makes sense

Hi Glenn

This was brewing in the background.

Dom and I were just waiting for the DVLA side to conclude before proceeding.

22 May 2026

Change happened.

Change in my bank account

Change in Doms bank account

Change in ownership of Spartacus

Change in attitude happened a few days ago

More about that later.

One thing I did do this morning was to fill the power steering fluid tank because it was almost empty.

The steering was very snatchy when I was driving the car before.

I had also been playing with some design ideas for the repair sections of the rear inner wheel tubs and shock towers.

I spoke to a friend, Ross, about looking for some old steel to use.

As it happens, he is in the process of scrapping a Jowett car and a Volvo Amazon.

I did some visual imaginations and projections and asked if he would sell me some parts off them before loading and scrapping them, to which he agreed.

So today, after a GP appointment, I headed over to his yard. A guided tour and the usual discussion of the state of the nation, we packed some stuff in the Scenic and then I headed home.

Got home, unpacked my treasures and had a beer.

It was HOT HOT HOT today.

Repair panels off a Jowett Jupiter for Škoda Cube van rear arches sourced.

Of course I have to create something from this lot.
