It's scary, can't believe the car doesn't flip over! I'm picturing the lorry driver wild eyed & foaming at the mouth! Just can't picture how the car ended up in that position...

We used to do alot of work for them, its Arclid transport in.. err. Arclid near Sandbach. The driver is apparently commenting on the video saying the cleo had a blowout and ran into him. Hes braking, trying to slow down but its difficult to stop a fully laden 44t truck!*edit* Although the mid axle on the tractor unit is raised, meaning its not laden at all....

The clio driver must of shat themselves!, It looks like the lorries brake lights are on to me and as Tim said, A fully laden lorry with 44 tons of liquid in the back is going to take a while to slow down from 56mph.

It's coming on the news, apparently the occupants walked away!

Frightening.Three weeks ago I was behind a Laguna coming into Liverpool. A lorry pulled across from the outside lane and caught it on the back quarter panel, spun it round and it then bounced off the central reservation. All happened very quickly and fortunately was at relatively low speed.Nobody injured and the truck driver said that he just didn't know the Laguna was there - didn't even see it until it went across the front of his truck and into the central res. Can't imagine what must ahve been going through the Clio drivers mind though.

Had a luton hit by a Spanish lorry on a French motorway a few years ago. Much more messy.

The truck driver fell asleep at the wheel. Our driver and passenger walked away too.

I have had something very similar happen to me on the M25. A foreign artic decided he wanted my lane as well as the inside lane, I was doing around 60-65. He spun me and then pushed me along side on for around 30yards before I ended up going down the hardshoulder into the barrier backwards. The whole thing took about 20 seconds but seemed like an eternity with my whole life passing before my eyes. My wife's Laguna was a writeoff but I was able to drive it home to change my underwear! I ended up with a cut knee (banged on dashboard), cops couldn't believe it. I would like to thank all the people who drove past, yes, not one car stopped before the police arrived to see if I was alright. I couldn't even open the drivers door of the car due to the damage to get out myself.Mind you if I had been in a BMW doing 120 I would have been OK

Given that the additional wheels on the cab and trailer are raised, I doubt that it will be fully laden.BBC says that the police are now looking into it.

I had a fully loaded Car transporter full off scrap cars pile into me in 2006

Holy sheet whitevanman and fredtransit !!i'm surprised anyone could climb out of them wrecks ALIVE, never mind without a scratch.

If the truck had hauled on the anchors, wouldn't there be a chance that the Clio would carry on briefly and possibly flip over? Maybe he was just trying to coast to a stop for that reason? If you see the clip on Pootube, he's definitely not trying very hard to stop.

Shit the bed, would not want to be on the clio-end of that. C- on the braking, could try harder... But i'm sure that's a perfect case of "easier said than done"

I think you'll find I had a fair few scratches and the likes....
