Mini lacking lights, interior and pretty well everything else. Hopefully it's going to be further raped for it's engine for the benefit of a Metro or something :)

Olympian is looking rather the worse for wear...

First thing you do before leaving for an event where you know you'll be taking loads of pics? Check the batteries in yer camera of course. Which I didn't before going to the Renault World Series, which meant this gorgeous 155 parked in the car park was one of about three cars I snapped that day. :(

I'm the same, but I thought that one was rather tastefully done. Well, apart from those stupid white vents in the bumper.

Leyland National MK2 - went on one once London once because National Express had a shortage of coaches at the time !

Green National (WFM) looks very Croseville-ish to me.*Not all banger racers are knobheads by the way.

It is an ex-Crosville. I've seen it out and about around Bradford, actually, it truly is mint.

The Triumph is not in fact a Dolomite, but it's earlier un-named incarnation, the 1500.............. hence the "1500" badge on the front panel. Rocking horse shit. And ex-girlfriend of mine's Mother had one. It's how I met her in fact. There was this tidy looking bird leaned over (under?) the bonnet, whacking the starter with a hammer. I let her get on with it, and asked her afterwards if she fancied going out for a drink. To my delight, she said yes, and she took me in her GSA.... (No, that's not a euphemism) We got on real well, for 14 months, until I replaced her handbrake pads, then she dumped me... She's married now. Still, her Mother had a right nice Triumph, Auto too IIRC. Seem to remember she scraped the offside doors not long after I was dumped. Did I fix the damage?? Did I buggery.Still ,the daughter did a nice line in food and sex. Like I say a 1500, not a Dolly. Of course, I was terribly, terribly drunk at the time.

Sad bastard that I am I thought the colour and the local reg number gave it away!

According to the LNG website, WFM is the oldest Leyland National preserved by one of its members since the demise of pre-production prototype FRM 499K.

I doubt there are many others on a K reg that still survive in any kind of condition.

Looks like its in 'Carlyle' livery (Carlyle being the Midland Red Engineering works in Brum - which branched out into body building in the 1980's on minibuses and then single deckers before the company ran into trouble and went bust.

I'm guessing it was a demonstrator for the later type of purpose built bodywork, rather than the early buses which were converted from the walk through van body (see below)

Compared with this later one (by which time bigger chassis vehicles like the Metrorider, Merc 709D and Dennis Dart were stealing sales from the Sherpa & Transit.
