Retro Rides brake problem

I dunno jack about old J-tin, but some cars use the inside of the rear disk as a parking brake "drum", eg some Mercs. So, may or may not be a pisstake.

Drum brakes result in a much more effective handbrake. There are many moderns that have a small drum incorporated into the rear disc brakes. My neighbour was struggling with the ones on his car a few months ago

Don't think so, lots of cars have separate handbrake working in the disc. Volvos, Porsche. So unless I'm missing something obvious, I don't think he is.

As mentioned earlier lots of cars have them, even Vectras use this idea.I see from his pictures both the shoes and discs are new, what he needs to do is slacken off the handbrake cables.Alot of people adjust the handbrake on the cable and not the proper adjusters through a hole in the disc. The adjusters might have been slackened off but if the lever arm isn't fully back you will never get the drum on.

Volvo 240s/740s/940s/v/s90s all use a little drum inside the rear disc to use as the hand brake. I recon thats what hes on about.

Legacy's also have the drum in disk system......I'd say that the piss taking is not being done by this Danneh or whatever his name was....

My (badly-adjusted) handbrake drum is immense fun when I reverse-park on the hill outside my house, inching back as close as I can to my neighbour's bumper, then lifting the brake pedal to pull forwards, only for the car to roll back another 6 inches
