Haven't had it apart yet - REALLY looking forward to it, 😁

Nice to finally meet you and hand over the compressor you bought nine years ago 😂

Hope you have a nice drive back!

I'd completely forgotten about that.... Obviously!

A total pleasure.... Great chat and hope the boys made the loo in time 😁

So I filled up.....

IMG_20250427_144046.jpg.a892f2be225f399b07f5ffd9a7b41964.jpg

Read it and weep fellow southerners.... A full 10 of those pennies per litre cheaper!

Took off like a slightly drugged bat out of hell - kinda

IMG_20250427_152011.jpg.9775ca7df524d15eecbfe42465476ece.jpg

Passed a supposed 'sports car' HAH!

IMG_20250427_170730.jpg.01339a892e503b2386867950beb71961.jpg

Then pulled in at Totteridge services as I noticed a noise different from all the others..... Oh oh

IMG_20250427_181455.jpg.365d0d94bd4da7d8930cad719a56c512.jpg

Grumbled onto the M25 but it was impending doom laden - so I bailed and parked up at Barnet.  Rear O/S wheel bearing kippered

So close!

Back tomorrow with a mates tru K to collect...... Sweet runner and heater that would create lava of your bones.....

Radio a nightmare but found 'custom' tuning accessories.

Looking forward to getting her sorted. Initial breakdown has put off the gf - so I've threatened her getting it as a birthday present - can't refuse a 'gift' like this.

She's responded with a potential nookie embargo 😔

Onwards and upwards 😁

Honestly it's not bad to get the whole front end off, a few fixings inside the wheel arches then the rest are pretty obvious on top of the grill/bumper.

Few big bolts holding the slam panel on, you have to drain the coolant if removing completely but the Aircon can stay connected as both hoses come from one side.

But I can't see how the cambelt needs doing right now, unless it's done loads of miles (think it's recommended at 60k or 5 years)

Like that!  The cabrios and coupes fell into the category of 'cars I want, but can't afford' when current.  Looks good still, especially from the front.  Shame about the wheel bearing and hope it's nothing more serious.  Nice to drive?

Yup... I've looked at a yank on YouTube amd his video is extremely clear. It'll all be good.

If you look at the photo I dropped in - there's a load of swarf at the top of the cover and the belt is worn away on the inner 5-6mm.....top surface totally gone.

Something in there isn't happy

There's a blow in the exhaust so it sounds a bit rorty....  But gutless. No surprise there though.

Light direct steering and it rolls along well enough, it's a sedate little thing really.

I'm sure the gf will warm to it 🤔

Feels pretty nippy compared to the Express but then the exhaust blow only became audible this morning.

Great place to be a passenger or eat cheese on toast apparently
