Milford Cubicle Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I find this little ebay Colt surprisingly appealing, despite looking a bit lob-sided and "money-pit" cheap.Bet it would be an undriveable little daily retro with some coils lopped-off, a set of 13" Watanabes/Rota RBs and a juvenille exhaust....
Pete-M Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Has it got twin trip meters though? You know you'd miss 'em..!

Super Shift I think.

The bolts that hold the discs to the hub go in from the hub face side and the heads sit proud which also limits wheel fitment unless you can find wheels with recesses to clear them. They do have the high/low range box though and are actually pretty pleasant to drive. Lots and lots of rot potential though.
Station Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I think you'd be going out of the frying pan, into the fire if you're not after boring with one of them. I fancied a change and bought a D reg 1.3 Corolla. I had it for a week. It was a good car, but it was so BORING (but otherwise perfect). How about a mk1 MR2? Definitely not boring, one car I really miss.

dollywobbler Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Citroen BX would be my suggestion. My 1.9 dizzel is a bit lethargic but a TD goes quickly and drinks sod all fuel while the 1.9 petrols are fun too, with the 16v there for real 4000rpm+ excitement. They'll see off most things.Either that or a Pug 309 GTi for being high in Autoshite status, and a less sceney version of the 205.
Pete-M Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Mr Wobbler has made a couple of decent suggestions there.I'd probably be after a 306 D Turbo if I wanted something amusing and cheap to run, or a Xantia TD.As long as you avoid Vauxhalls, you'll be fine.
pandamonium Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Bored of a Bluebird... impossible!!!Seriously though, have you tried pressing harder on the loud pedal? Mine kicks down and flies when I do that, and is chuckable enough to be a laugh. Unfortunately, my only car to compare with is a 1986 FWD Chevy Celebrity, so my judgement may be a little misguided!
