Selling cars question

This really does illustrate the laziness of society today and that everyone thinks they're owed something. Sitting there in front of your PC boshing a bid on something, it'll be alright if I decide I don't want it, Trisha and all the ads on the telly says it will.I got a Triumph Dolomite from eBay unseen a few years ago and I asked the guy to describe it in a bit more detail, obviously not a car savvy chap but he did his best. Will you MoT it I asked and said he wasn't sure it would pass - fair enough. When I got there, there was a bloody great hole in the sill. I'd travelled so many miles and organised a trailer so I paid up, brought it back and got it fixed. Hard luck on me.Who buys a 1930s car for that kind of money and doesn't expect to have major work anyway? Idiot.Hope you have a satisfactory outcome.

Hey, just remember, if this was 10 years ago this guy would be round your house or ringing you up asking dumb questions, now you can politely dispatch him from the comfort of your computer desk.he's clearly just a clever bleeder who's sat at his home PC with a cup of tea idly scannning the bay, not a serious buyer, so dont worry about him.

It's not you, is it? Oh and they can ring up, I've been offered an R1 (whatever that is) No doubt I'll be offered a Del Boy van before too long.
Er, a Yamaha R1?The local krankenhaus will be glad to receive your organs.

Well he's boshed it on eBay, and bizarrely he hasn't mentioned any of the supposed faults he was so upset about... It's already on more than what he paid me for it too. Would it be petty to grass him up to eBay for keyword spamming in the title? :P

Send him a message that says "the paint looks great; is it?"

Using my crystal ball, I see an improbably high sale price, followed by silence from the winning bidder....

Or good feedback then watch it get relisted by the tit who bought it off you as it was his mate who bid.

Just noticed that he's put that the plate has been valued at over £1500. Somebody's going to be pissed off when they find it's non-transferable...

H sounds increasingly like a knowledge-free 'clever bleeder'. I presume his threats have dried up now?

she has had a full body resto, and a full chassis resto

Either that statement or his claim that the welding isn't up to MOT standard is fraudulent.

Anyone got an eBay link for it please?

Frigging chancers!Regarding the threatened court action (that seems to have dissapeared) Ive read that the word "reasonable" is key. Was it reasonable of him to expect a minter for the money he paid? Nope. It was very much a work in progress and advertised as needing alot of work. Its like buying a 200 quid Austin Maestro, is it reasonable to expect it to do 30k with absolutley no problem whatsoever? Of course not!

Really? I bloody would :!:

Sorry, did I put 30k? It was meant to say 230k, 200k being "reasonabe"

I've just sent him an email about that.........

Just had a reply, he says that he was "told the plate was transferable by the person he got it from". He says it's been sold to someone in Italy.....hope he likes waking up to a horses head next to his pillow.........

Well at least the legal action has been dropped - from you anyway - not sure what the new owner will do, just hope they viewed the car first!

Utter, utter bollocks. I never told him anything about the plate. He actually seemed like a pretty decent bloke when I dealt with him on the phone, but he's now looking more and more like a prize twunt. And his buyer from Italy is going to have fun exporting it without the logbook - I only sent it off just before the weekend so it won't be getting to Lee on the Solent this side of the new year.

Do you reckon we should perhaps send a link to this thread to the new owner? He could be contacted via eBay.Wuv, I think you've had a lucky escape. This one's a prize penis.
