SCRAPPAGE comes to Jersey: Death of a 309

I haven't posted spots for ages, and first clocked this 309 some time ago. Early example, rare SRI model, tidy condition, only 60k or so on the clock:

Shortly after, has obviously changed hands and very quickly being run into the ground with blown exhaust/accident damage:

Now there's no government funded scheme here, but one of the suits at Derek Warwick Honda has obviously taken a liking to the displays of artificially-trashed 'bangers' outside UK main stealers, and decides to replicate the wheeze in an attempt to cut down on their overstock of new Jazzes:

Couldn't even be arsed to disconnect the battery :lol:

I saw this the other day and thought that the artificial damaging of his was a bit piss-poor and generally I find this sort of thing an insult to people's intelligence.

I agree.Id love to take a car in in that condition and see what they would say. They would probably tell me to piss off as its not roadworthy therefore doesnt comply with the regulations.False advertising surely?

It wouldn't need to comply with any regs. There's no official scrappage in Jersey, this is just a dealer offering a min. 2 grand PX by the looks of it.

You should buy it and just run it like that, scraplook innit.

I can picture the scene. 40 something manager arrives in 1994 Range Rover with blacked out windows. Calls 17 year old pot-smoking apprentice twat into office, tells him to HI-AB that shitty car from a certain road at 3am in the morning, bring it back and then smash it up to look like it's old. Job done.

That's a great set of pics. The life and gradual death of a shitter.

all you need is a press office ic for a full set  sad to see a car end like that, still lots of 309's here atm, but only just..

A depressingly large number of people have very thick-skinned intelligence.

You're not joking! I would quite like to go and liberate that Maystar bad boy, then sell it to Hirst.I think the INJECTION badge should also be saved, and those alloys would probably fit on my Sierra :)
