Will be up for sale either with or without an MOT. Any interest?

a: Where in the country is it?

b: What sort of money would we be talking with/without MoT?

I was expecting an SD1. The 216 was a nice supprise, not seen one for years.

It's in London, sarf London. I am told £350 without the MOT, but may be going for test soon, should fly it. It was in a warehouse with a couple of other cars for 9 years. Put it this way, we had the Granada estate (now has T&T) out for Ashes to Ashes at the week end.

cpt slow I see you are in Sheffield, I have a minibus to come down from there soon (one way ort another, it had a brake prob) so could get it up to you (or get you a lift, plenty of seats! ) if you need it...

If I were on the mainland I'd love that, had one in the mid nineties, a very capable little compact saloon if you got a good 'un.I note that this one has leather seats-probably out of a VDP Efi since the Vitesse has cloth sports seats, a nice upgrade mind.

This one has stupid low mileage so can't see it being any trouble.

It'd cost me 'shit loads' to get it here and re-registered, ok maybe not as much as importing into Ireland but certainly alot more than the cost of buying the car.

Thanks for the offer Fred, but I'm going to have to take a raincheck. I've just got myself an insurance quote ( I'm 18 ) and I'll not beat about the bush, it's over £2600. Or, to put it a different way, more than it'd cost me to insure an 800.

If I'm going to buy a 1.6 litre ARG car, a Maestro or Montego makes far more sense. And truth be told I prefer them - it's just that this was available, nice spec, and fair money.

Did the '216' in the title not give you a clue?

JEEESUS H CHRIST!! At last there is an advantage to being over 40! That's twice as much as we spend on our trader's insurance, to drive anything.

If Brian Nesbitt of CHARD SOMERSET who replied about this via my website, please either send me your email (as I can't just hit reply through the reply form) or phone me? My contact is on the website. I am guessing you have either seen this thread as a guest, or are trying to sign up but your membership hasn't been approved. If you are a member, PM me. By the way, I have found out this car has no headlining fabric. The hard headlining is there, but the fabric has been removed. I am told the fabric sagging is common in these, so probably somebody got fed up of it flopping in their faces and took the fabric out.

Either I just missed it, or there has been some clever editing to make me look dumb!(I don't need any help with that!)
