I've noticed from looking on the likes of FLICKR that some vans are very hard to see apart from examples that have been given camper conversions.

Certainly it's one of the easiest ways to spot an LCV over 30 years old.

Can't remember the last time I saw a non-camper 'forward-control' HiAce...  here's ours.

 

 

Had a respray a couple of years ago, wasn't too bad before... However, wanted to catch it before she got too bad as we've had her longer than the kids (16 years), and she's very precious!!!

Very popular among woke-folk and DIY campervanning is very 'IG friendly' so there appears to have been a resergence.

High property prices has seen an explosion in their use in places such as Brighton, Surrenden Road being a popular* location:

Certainly I've heard of campers being passed down in families once older people find them unsuitable for holidaying in.

Definitely true.  Can't remember last time I saw a Merc T1 other than a camper.  Well technically one I see regularly started life as a minibus, but it's kitted out as a camper now and has been a good few years.

Likewise VW LTs, haven't seen a non-camper in years.  Those are the two I tend to notice the most anyway.
