Milford Cubicle Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 I might be wrong, but I think European markets changed to the Scorpio name in 1985, while we clung on to Granada - I guess it's because the Granada was so successful in the UK.
stormee Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Renault 18 w/o rear door handles? You cannot open the rear doors at all?

warren t claim Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Renault 18 w/o rear door handles? You cannot open the rear doors at all? That's what I was thinking.
M'coli Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Great photos - is this the inspiration for the Skoda Roomster, perhaps?

andrew e Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Ace! that means I never imagined the 21 savanna without rear door handles, spied a few years back.
VWPowered Posted October 11, 2009 Author Posted October 11, 2009 But come on now, it's bought, for English's sake. B-o-ught. yes have seen 21's the same namely ex EDF
stormee Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Quite strange with the doors obviously there but without handles. If they are really closed forever by the factory, how does one clean the space between body and door? The gap tells me that there is the regular door-to-body assembly since the gaps are clearly there and no welding seams. Factory routine surely builts the normal doors with their hinges and locks and just drops the handles. Do the doors open only from the inside? Really liked to see one of these 'commercial' Renaults in metal.
Pillock Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 I dunno, the pic is a bit small but looking at the inside of the rear door on that 21, it looks like it's all just smooth - no handles on the inside, no window winder, no nothing.Maybe it's a door-shaped blanking plate with a fixed window that is somehow bolted in or braced on the inside, against a big rubber seal. Certainly the 21 is lacking the handle recess so it's not just a door, where the 18 appears to have the recess but no holes so might be more door-like.
