A long time ago in a Galaxie far, far away (running after 3yrs)

How old is the Leaf? The Japanese are very good at building a car exactly as long as they want it to last...

My Civic was utterly hanging underneath by it's 10th year. Basically no bolt or fixing was reusable on removal.

The sill has the classic look of having filled up with shite due to lack of drainage. That stonechip coating is excellent at hiding rust until the metal crumbles to dust underneath it...

I think I would let it to go to be honest. It's hard enough to get welding done on ice cars I don't think many places will want to take on welding an EV.

From what I've read you not only need to disconnect the 12v as normal but the high voltage system also needs to be disconnected.

The high-voltage system is isolated from the metal body according to a single post on a forum that I've not fact checked. So disconnect the 12v and pray to Jesus. I'm gonna try the welding myself, I don't expect it to be good but it needs to be to MOT standard and to allow me to eke out 12-24months more of motoring. If I fuck it up horrifically I'll scrap it.

@captain_70s, it's 11yrs old and fits the modern pattern of 6-10yrs of service life before becoming unusable.

£2800 into the Leaf so far and I managed 12 months/6000miles.

£2250 purchase price

£300 tyres

£250 in parts and tools I didn't own.

What's the scrap value on these like? I can't seem to get a quote
