So me and the tribe went to Lanzarote last week and after spotting shite everywhere I spend a few days taking some pics. Wife thought I was mental.

I forgot how amazing a 406 looks.

 

 

As a bonus, I got to take out my new found hatred of corsas by ragging the tits off my hire car up a volcano until it wouldn’t go any further. Then left it there for two hours while we had a walk round the summit.

Grrrrr. Me and Mrs Tet were off to Lanzarote in late September this year, that is until sprog Tet decided she wasn't going to look after our dog this time. She normally loves having our dog, but flatly refused this time. So we cancelled our holiday. We were off to San Francisco Park in Puerto del Carmen.

Mrs Tet will not, ever, put our mutt in kennels.

Where did you stay pauldoubleyou, Costa Teguise?

I stayed in a place called Tias. It was lovely and quiet and even though it was essentially right next to the airport. Empty beaches too.

If you went further west it became a bit ‘Benidorm’ which I personally detest. Went on some nice drives and found a few nice marinas.

We love Puerto del Carmen for it's bars and eateries. Mrs Tet calls it 'The Strip'.

Isn't Tias just on the outskirts of Puerto del Carmen?

I love the colour scheme of the Tias taxis.

Been to Lanzarote quite a few times, mostly around Playa-Blanca but stayed in Yaiza and Las Brennas.

Stayed in one house that was on the telly, homes in the sun did a feature on Lanzarote and we stayed in the one across the street from the feature house so it was in the back ground when they did the interview outside.

Great Tapas in the Playa-blanca harbour, even better on Christmas day in the sunshine, everywhere is open until about as they do Three Kings day in January instead.

Head up to the far end of the Island and you can stand right under the wind turbines, no railings or safety shizzle there.
Impressive up close but a lot noisier than I expected.
About 200m down the hill is a hidden restaurant with the best steak I have had on the Island, look for the coach park.

 

I did see a couple of sheds of the abandoned variety, one was a Corsa on bricks in the central reservation as you headed inland from Playa-Blanca, every day we passed it more of it was missing.

One that made me sad was a Lancia Delta HF, rust free but heavily stripped and abandoned, no photos of either as I had a Blackberry phone at the time and it encrypted all the photos then died.
