Shocking story

Scary. Personally, I wouldn't be carrying five large in cash under those circumstances. Banker's drafts are the order of the day for anything more than a few hundred quid, so much less stressful!

Witnesses saw two men, described as black and believed to be in their 20s, punch, kick and finally stab the victim as they tried to wrestle a bag with around £5,000 in it from him.

The attackers were a couple of brave types then, two onto one. Why did he go on his own though?

Like the fact they decided to bail two suspected murderers. Perhaps they can get another ad in before October 7th.

Nasty.I went to Barking a few years ago & it struck me as being a pretty rough area.

It is scary. I've often gone to view cars on my own, though always at someone's house. Being a skint type, I rarely carry any sort of cash on me though.

TBH I have never gone on my own to see something, in case I buy it and want to drive back!

I got the train to Stevenage once with 1k in an envelope in my pocket. All the way down (seven hours) I was waiting for a chance to roll the wad up and stick it somewhere safe.Fortunately, these people are too stupid to not get caught and leave a trail anyway.

I wonder how fake the advert was. If it was one of the eBay-style ones, only the thick or desperate would fall for it.

gumtree it was - you can never be completely certain but I would say that I always:1/speak to the guy extensively on the phone and ask some very detailed questions about the car2/ unless I know them personally I would never arrange to meet uless at an address3/ take someone with you if at all uncertain4/ never every take cash with you to a meet unless you know the guy or have taken references on himproblem is us purveyors and lurvers of shiite know all this but it is the innocent - wow a 3 year old Gowf for five grand! - who will inevitabl fall for it - if it looks too good to be true it usually ispoor sod - hope they string the crooks up - I mean - they could have had the cash without stabbing the guy

TBH, I wouldn't go without cash, but wouldn't go on my own. I don't go and see things I only sort of might possibly want. I want to buy if I am going to see it. The last two things off ebay I1, didn't collect myself, but a good mate with a truck did2, had to buy cos the art director had seen pictures of !t

Regardless of what he should or shouldn't have done this is yet another sad example of what modern Britain has become.I hate to sound like a whingy old twat but I really do think that National Service would sort out alot of Britain's problems, yes it would have to be funded buy the tax payer but if that meant a better Britain in 10-20 years time then why not? Britain needs to kick arse big time, anyone seen the film Idiocracy? thats Britain very soon. This sort of thing makes me farkin angry.

You are the BNP and I claim my 5 Euros.

Hang on, I'll just ask my Polish missus if I'm a member of the BNP shall I? For your information the answer is NO I am not a member and I hold very different views to the BNP, I never mentioned race or colour at all did I? my point is just as valid no matter what colour or nationality, I'd say the same thing if they were two white kids.

Sorry, it's just that 'BRING BACK THE NATIONAL SERVICE' is one of their policies. I don't think they'd have a problem with your Polish wife, being quite fair skinned and all that.I think it's a ridiculous idea, how does being in the army make you a better person? Some people are just parasites.

500 notes is my limit (normally lucky if i've got €10 :? )sad state of affairs really (not me lol)

Very true. While you can sort out a few dropouts by beating them senseless with a good Sargent, there'll be a few who'll still get through with a bad attitude. And you'll have spent 2 years teaching them how to kill people

....or force them to rebuild every last Tagora to a nut and bolt standard. My point was that some of these fucktards need to be taught a lesson in life where they can't do what they want-life isn't like that in reality or if you want an integrated society-its either that or eugenics :shock::shock::lol:

Two reasons for this behaviour:1) The punishment doesn't fit the crime in the UK and even if it did, said cretins can APPEAL if they thinks they're sentence is too long  .2) We seem to let anyone into this country regardless of background/status/usefulness to our Economy, hence why this country is in an apalling state and until our lazy/clueless, overpaid Government do something about this (highly unlikely), things are never gonna improve...(I'm not a BNP supporter either and I have friends who are from Poland, Slovakia and Africa)

Well, Ive grown up with my parents being newsagents for the past 18 years, and 12 of those have been seeing the Express forever going on about Diana.

As a clever man once said, the Express is the best newspaper in the world, if youre obsessed with Diana.

This sums up the Mail:

morris, the Express was obsessive, but the Daily Mail did pop up with the regular Express-grade Diana stories.,

hey Milford..Mrs Mills was a No1 seller here in NZ..if u need any copies let me know..

My mate Marcus and I had just worked a U2 tour in Germany so we flew back to London each with 1000notes on us...we ended up wandering around Millwall..surrounded by BNP graffiti..late at night n the dark paranoid..or at least i was.. as fcuk.

We ended up buying a 1979 Ford A series ex-scout group bus [YSN8T] with a six berth caravan conversion for 900notes..brown with white stripe...i named it the Tapeworm.

We ended up having to do a clutch change on the street in Berlin. We we re parked outside our squat for so long that the German traffic authority sent an official complaint to England..the first Marcus' family heard anything from him in years...

Thanks for the explanation, I couldn´tremember the mail, but the express took the biscuit for dragging out a story that should have died years ago!m0rris
