Surely you need a Chrysler Alpine at 1442cc?

We all need one - I think I may be one of the several forum members who will actually burst next time one appears on ebay.
Been reported on OJC that one has appeared in a yard up north somewhere due to the jolly old scrappage scheme. Believed to the be pre-facelift too :x etc.

Rover 214 SEI Comes with alloys, half leather seats and a reliable Honda engine (Just check for the usual headgasket ..etc)

Sorry that's wrong. The 214 has the K-Series engine which is a Rover engine. Boxy 216s had the Honda engine. Later 216s (bubble) had an enlarged K series. The 214SEi is indeed a fine car though.
I second that - drove one a while and was impressed with how nicely done and well made the interior felt, and the amount of power the old 1400 K series series put out. Nice and easy to park as well, you can see all four corners! (I speak as a new shape Mondeo driver where you can see f**k all)

I had a brand new Rover 214SEi in 1994 and it was shit. It blew the power steering on day 1 of my ownership, with less than a dozen miles on the clock. The shagging alternator FELL OUT, all the coolant roared out of the expansion tank about every 6 weeks, all the instruments failed, as did the central locking and power windows. The back seat burst open and the wheels were difficult to remove.A heap of shit. It cost me £11055 in 94 and I only got £1200 for it at 3 years old/40k miles.
