Campervan / Barn find / Restoration project / Very Rare

s-l1600.jpg

This is a rare opportunity to purchase an 'original' 1989 converted Leyland Campervan.

It has been off the road & stored in Spain since 2006.

Those in the trade will know what a fully restored 1989 Campervan is worth

The campervan is advertised elsewhere and may be removed from sale at any time.

I somehow miss the term 'unique' in the ad, but I'm pretty sure there is already a huge queue of potential buyers forming,

falling over each other to rehome and lavishly restore this rare investment opportunity.

What a weedhead.

PAHOOT!

NO ENGINE, GEARBOX OR PROP SHAFT**!

Erm...

s-l1600.jpg

The only reason I bough this car was for the engine & gearbox to fit into my Mk1 Granada, because the Scimitar was at one point some sort of race car, perhaps a track day or hill climb car, I don't really know, but the old guy I got it from had it for years and said it was a pretty rapid car, and clearly the engine has had some work done.
So the Scimitar is now being sold as a rolling shell without running gear for that reason.

Engine rapist.

I have for sale by separate negotiation, a genuine 46k mile Rover 3.5 V8 engine removed from a P5B Coupe. A friend also has a manual box for sale from an SD1 if you were interested, so the Rover engine which is lighter than the original 3.0 Essex, with a manual box, would be an incredible street sleeper or track car if you wanted to go down that route.

That fucked Granada leaves quite a trail of destroyed classics in its wake.

With A arms made from straws and pigeon shit?

Go right ahead, this will provide much youtube hilarity.

That steering rack is too close to the arms. Must get pretty bad bump-steer.

I genuinely wonder whether there are people who collect old wheelchair haulers.

If so, they're likely to be on here.

Imagine being trapped in a cab with this bloke when you have a stinking hangover

s-l1600.jpg

In good working order but slightly damaged as you can see.
A small piece of lens was broken on mine showing white light to the rear.
My car is a private hire vehicle and I taped over it to look more presentable. I made such a good job of it that i forgot all about it. That is the original tape i put on and jet washed nearly every day.
When my council test came round I remembered it when checking the whole car over.
This would not pass a council test, but is not a mot failure if covered with the appropriate see through red tape.

I was quoted £150 by Volvo for a new unit, so this is a bargain if you don't need perfection.
It all works, however I had to swap out the wiring to the marker light (see photo) as the 2nd hand replacement light I found for myself was burnt out. I have left this burnt out piece of wiring in as a pattern.
I have fished out as much lens as I can which will be sent with the unit. A small piece remains inside which someone with more time and patience might be able to get out.
Bulbs included.
