((Yes, I'm going to a bad place for this one!))

Yeah, Buckhaven.

Class.

- wasn't JP2 a good looking chap compared to the muggly fugglers we've had since? Almost "movie star" standard, shame he presided over the most questionable period of Catholicism of the modern age...

Yesterday the Granadaland Greenhouse Gassers went to look at this car: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172255296661

The idea was to buy it, rob its chrome for the blue V8, get it running/driving/MoTed, whack some daft wheels on it and sell it de-bumpered
with daft wheels and matt black bonnet as some kind of rally car, ideally for a bit of a profit that can be used to further fund the blue V8.

Although it's a bit too shoddy for what we had in mind, it is not a total dog and would be ideal for someone who wants to do it up for himself.

It does need welding at the bottom of the O/S D-pillar and the front N/S footwell to inner sill, but the entire engine bay and boot are rock solid.

The interior needs some major tidying.

It has mismatched door cards and tatty black leather seats. It looks like the interior was originally Sandalwood, though.

Of course the brakes need doing, there is no fluid left in the reservoir and there is an issue with the hydraulic clutch actuation and possibly

the clutch itself. The 4cyl cars do have a separate circuit for the clutch hydraulics though, wheras the V8s have a common reservoir for brake

and clutch hydraulics.

All in all a rewarding project that could yield a nice daily driver with relatively little effort.

Hence I do not wish to be disappointed.

I have got that one on my watch list is it a TC ? Looks like an SC dash with series 1 TC rev counter but I could be wrong. I quite fancy another P6 but prefer the series 1's. Is the engine ok and holding it's water as I know they like to rot out the engine side plates that were getting hard to find 20 years ago when I had my first one.

It's an SC and it has the correct dash for a Series 2 SC. Although we ultimately didn't get the engine to fire yesterday during a downpour after the car had been standing for a while,

it turns over quite nicely and the engine bay is septically clean (although those engine side plates, if needed, would be readily available again nowadays).

The overall impression is that this car was well cherished until not too long ago.

I have absolutely no vested interest in this car being sold, all I am saying is that I think for someone who wants a P6 for sane money, this wouldn't

be the worst candidate.

Two cars you expect to see outside the red lion, and a bloke with a gold necklace and some mum tattoos on his arm to get in and drive off after a few two many.

Both 1395.
