great post, used to go to this every year, then sort of fell out of love with the CCC.

The 'Croisette' on the CX means its a run out special edition, sort of, they put the GTI interior, whacked in a sunroof, shoved on ABS etc from the better models. They are one of the best CX's you can get.

It was basically a 22 TRS, so you had a 2.2 litre Peugeot engine rather than the old Cit 2.5. I think they reverted to a carburettor arrangement and distributor instead of fuel injection, which strikes me as a bit of a retrograde step.

"F111 RAD" is one of the last Croisettes still on the road. It may actually be the only one at the moment.

I used to really enjoy CCC events, haven't been to one of these for ages. I seem to have the itch to own one again so maybe next year...

What will you go for this time round?

What will you go for this time round?

I hadn't ever seriously considered them before but I'm thinking about a C5, for a combination of proper hydraulics with some nice modern features. I can't bear the looks of the mk 1 though...

The Saab is lovely but just too sporty for me. It's been fun for a while but not a keeper.

I think it’s because they already used the 2 litre douvrin engine for years with a carb and Citroen never used it with fuel injection.

I’ve had 2 croisettes on my time, nice cars, spoilt only by the cheap pop up sunroof they chose to fit.

Wonder why? Maybe they just didn't want to spend the money.

I think the Peugeot 505 had the same engine, and that was fuel-injected.
