There is plenty of old stuff about which does the trick...  with previous lap belt equipped cars when the kids were younger I used a Britax Prince I got on eBay for £20 and a £5 car boot maxi cosi. My children are still alive. Now they’re a bit older they just use the lap belts and I try not to crash.

Yes I spent a bit of time looking for second hand models but invariably found the only ones on eBay were 50 miles away.  No worries if it can be found close to home though!
