the "pot noodle" incident still makes me chuckle

I regret not asking him to get the broken Ranger and himself dropped at my house for repair.

I considered it, but since it was broken down somewhere around the Birmingham area, and I'm in Rochdale, I dismissed the idea.

So he had it transported to his Sisters in Scotland, fixed the head with a sheet of emery on glass, and drove it home to France.

Didn’t interact with AS much at the time as I was more blue than brown (but don’t worry, firmly in the fold nowadays with maturity ) - I distinctly remember reading that Pot Noodle story and chuckling every time I thought of it ever since. I also remember him detailing THE most ingenious DIY method of cleaning up head gasket mounting faces ever.

Someone somewhere should erect a stone Pot Noodle memorial to him (on a glass table)  - it’s up there with 4x candles in terms of its potential as a sketch.
