A stage of this was held about half a mile from my house, so I spent a fair amount of yesterday watching. Mostly Mk1/2 Escort content but, as you've seen, there were some notable exceptions.

 

Despite the finish line being three hundred yards from where I live, we had to walk about two miles to reach the spectator area, and the best part of the stage (my favourite driving corner in the whole of Essex) was only just within the reach of the full extent of my 200mm lens. That means my photos are a bit shite.

 

I was standing pretty much exactly where the thumbnail shot of the video in that news story ^ was taken.

Annoyingly, I arrived about 30 seconds too late to catch the 6R4, and it was the only time it appeared on the day.
