MGF set up almost identical to the GTa - I dont think it can be wedged.

It can be wedged, as I wedged in 2 pieces of wood and towed this home today behind my P100!

Its a honey of a thing and seems to be totally unfiddled-with, mecanically and bodily. The rear hydro bottle has popped, so I will get a new one this week and fix the suspension next weekend. Its got 3/4 of a tank of juice, tax till the end of oct, a new cambelt and generally seems very healthy. It does need a tiny bit of welding on the read end of one sill, and one rear arch is starting to get a bit crispy, but that really is about it for faults. The engine is a gem.

I cant be arsed doing the welding unfortunately, as this car is in Crewe and my welding gear is 140 miles away, and the logistics of it make it too much hassle with all the other stuff i've got on. I am gonna make an effort to try to sell this car 'as is' but with the suspension fixed, to someone who will make good use of it. Anyone fancy it for about £120 including the tax and the juice?

Yeah all Metros of this era had cats. That's what the badge on the back, under the GTa badge, says.;)

Value. Let us know how the pumpage goes. Small sub-1600 automatic would be of interest for my 'fossils', despite the metroness (If mr_bol can drive one I am sure my lanky piss-streak of a father can squeeze into it)

 I stand correctorized then.Im wondering how I can explain the sudden appearance of a Metrover shaped blob on the driveway by the bins (what with Crewe being a very pleasant trainspotterish ride from Preston and giving me the excuse I need to visit my old school chum Tracey who runs a carpet shop in Crewe).... £120 is truly bargainatious.Hmmmm llet me think...

I knew you'd start sniffing around FT!!! Theres no MOT on it at the moment, but its on the button, all lights etc seem to work, original radio with code etc. However as its taxed I think it could be driven away with a high level of confidence that the coppers are not going to take an interest. The interior is genuinely immaculate, as you might expect for one of these with 36k on it. I'll get some more pics up later.

This car is now fixed, lobbed on a s/h hydrogas sphere this morning and pumped it all up, sits nice and level now. I took it for a naughty blezz round my estate and its great fun, really zippy! Have some more snaps:

This is the bit required to pass the MOT (subframe mounts on both sides are tip top):

VGC underneath, NO WELDING!

Front footwells are mint too!

Interior is genuinely like new.

Great fun with the variomatic-esque transmission. They drive like nothing else but go with a surprising amount of urge. But what about those rear arches? What did they do with the Rover-isation that made the rear arches disintegrate like that? I know Austin Metty's will lose their arches too, but they just seemed to get worse and worse so that I'm sure the last 100s had already had their arches replaced by the time they got to their first owners.

That looks great - perfect town/city car for somebody.
