Probably never ever heard or seen of these cars before - assumed they were just another Mitsubishi Starion / Dodge Conquest re badge spin off:

Look at the un-neccessary boarded up rear boot window!

That's basically* a Talbot Horizon in a fancy frock. But I rather like the "80's excess" of some of the styling touches...* Although the US Horizon/Omni runs coil springs rather than the torsion bars of the Euro one.

Didn't they sell that car (or something very similar) as the Dodge Charger in the mid '80s as well? I'm sure I recall seeing it in my 1985 Dodge range brochure. I would like to think that the Chrysler Group's current woes are in some way attributable to their using the Charger name on a front-wheel-drive rebodied Horizon with a 1.6-litre Mitsubishi engine.

They did..

Turning a Talbot Horizon into a Dodge Charger in the mid 80's, who was in charge of making that, The A-Team?

The grey one is lovely, I`ve always liked these, they were for the Reliant/Aries owner looking to give himself a racy new image. Silver one looks sort of Audi Coupe like at the rear 3/4.I think the Shelby version was almost taken not entirely unseriously.

You could get those Charger ones with a nice interior:

OOOH, I used to have one of those as my daily whilst working in Chicago, very similar to the grey one, I bought it from Piedemonts in West Dundee , just around the corner from where I lived in Elgin. It cost me 200 bucks. It was parked around the back of the car lot, I called in to find a cheap runner and the salesman gave me a box of keys and told me to have a look outback. 2 litre mitsubishi engine and slushbox, mmm luxury. It did me proud for 9 months until t boned and written off by some dumb broad on a restricted license, insurance payed out 800 bucks. Result cheap motoring at its best...

There was a truck version too, the Dodge Rampage / Plymouth Scamp...
