anyone near Lincoln?

Spalding, PE11

Needs to come to Hull.

Its a new car I'm buying but it is without MOT so I cant drive it home nor can I tax it.

Anyone give me a quote? £100 spondoolies and all the tea you can drink?

Thanks all

Muchas Gracias.

Pre-booked MOT?

Is it vaguely roadworthy looking and unlikely to attract the attention of the plod? If so, just bang it in for an MOT in Hull and save yourself dollar.

Just stick to the spirit of the law and don't have a holiday in Grimsby on the way.

Oh yes it is driveable and looks great- Its an S Type so its not something silly that would attract plod.

However, there's no MOT and I cant tax it. Obviously, If I could Tax it and insure it I might of been tempted to drive it back.

It is, as it seems, quite expensive to get a car transported from Spalding to Hull.

You don't need tax to drive it to a pre booked MOT, just insurance.

I let the mot run out on a car a couple of years ago , rang VOSA (as was) dvla and anybody else I could think of as the mot station I use is 40 miles away and I thought taking it there would be seen as taking the piss

Turns out as long as you drive directly there and back distance doesn't matter , the only thing I did check was the insurance were ok with me driving a car with no mot as I didn't want that to be their get out of jail free card if anything happened

Just remember to have a printout of the insurance with you, and the details of the garage. It must be a pre booked timed appointment, not a "well I just said I'd turn up at some point in the week" and you can't stop anywhere on the way or go "the long way". Straight there and you'll be fine. Aside from petrol stops obvs.

It's not like you're doing the length of the country in a Princess that's not been on the road for 20 years.
