I hated the car in reality but I really want to revisit my idea of having a model of every car I've owned.

My dad's been collecting up models of all his past cars (with my assistance) for a few years now; still a few we're hung up on finding, sadly! Norev did a Renault R18 estate in silver, but it's megabucks pricey for some reason. Also weirdly hard to find a VW Beetle model that's not either a 50s pretzel/oval window, or a 70s Europa-bumpered version (his was a '62 model).

 

I'd like to do something similar, but weirdly no-one has ever made a model of the MkV Cortina or the Viva HC (other than some vastly expensive yet shonky looking white metal kits), despite them being mass-market cars that sold in their millions. Strange. Equally, never seen a Datsun Sunny B11 Coupe in miniature, so that's my first three years of motoring not really obtainable! Odd what gets made and what doesn't.

Last time I tried it was the Passat B2 that stumped me! I seem to have lost the others, none of them were especially nice anyway.

^^^ I'm pretty sure Schabak did a B2 Passat, possibly also Gama... not necessarily super-detailed models by today's standards, but deffo there in 1/43 scale.

 

There's also DeAgostini magazine partwork versions floating around for not a lot of money, though not necessarily easy to find in the UK. Still, you may hit lucky - don't give up!

 

 

EDIT: Seems Whitebox do one, though I don't think it's all that cheap either.

It's the car that got away for me...only got to drive it once...so would be nice to have something relating to it. No rush...I know I seem to be getting a reputation for making you make too many post office trips...

A few more 1/43 that escaped my notice last night...

 

Some Russian partwork models; most have been opened so the packaging's more for transit than anything else. Will take better pics tonight, but just in case this is your bag, here' y'go...

Other sportscar things that resemble magazine partworks; one of the Astons has been opened, the others are still sealed. I may have bought these as wheel donors; I'm really not sure.

It is indeed... now it's not a very happy little Bug, with not much paint and bent axles - but yes, I've just had a look online there at what they're going for and that's outrageous! This one's about the same sorta condition:

 

 

Also,is that another Redline next to the Fire Engine?

 

It's not, unfortunately - there's a Sir Rodney Roadster missing its hood and a Neet Streeter down there, but they're both '70s blackwalls.

 

Hmmm. Will need to have a think about that one - cheers for the heads-up!

Excellent stuff - there's the Fairmont, the Chevette, the Golf, the F150 and the Skyline in there - all new and unopened.

 

 

Sadly I've never had a Fiat 127 in my hot little hands - and have just agreed a deal for all Majorette to go as a job lot! No ambulances in there either, I'm afraid

There's got to be well over 100 individual cars in the big box - not only Cararama but Automax and others too.

 

I'd been knocking them out at car boot sales for £2 each or 3 for £5 - obviously further bulk discounts are available for fellow shiters. Most of the blister packs have been carefully opened, mind, so they're not sealed.

Yup, that should be grand - the Cararama trucks were going out at £5 posted, with discounts for multiple purchases.

 

Most of the 1/43 have already gone, but there's still a VW Microbus and Ford Puma available - £7 and £8 respectively, posted.

I think they may be the newer Cararamas you're looking for... unfortunately the majority of mine were bought and then mothballed around 2003-05, so they're probably just the common ones!
