Avon zv7 tyres

Afternoon all , has anyone had any experience with Avon zv7 tyres ? They seem to be priced well for a mid range tyre. I've had zv5's in the past - they seem to last well , are quiet and provide a good level of grip.

Aye, I have them on my 16" steels and my 17" alloys, gf has them on her Tiguan, higher rated, quieter and cheaper than the pzeros I was previously using, go for it.

I'll be needing some new tyres for the Volvo very soon and been looking at Avon ZV5's in 185/70/14 size. They seem well priced for a pretty good brand.

I used to fit Avon tyres a lot when I was in the garage but I've never had a set on my own cars.

 

They sound pretty good then?

I run Hancook ventus prime 2’s and 3’s on the Mondeo, miles better that the continental crap that it wore before.

 

Easily the best mix of decent grip combines with decent longevity.

 

We also have land sails on the 307 and in fairness to them they are bloody brilliant too!

 

Think it can be a lottery with brands you don’t know, and sometimes the same tyres can give varying results across different cars.

 

I was also advised to avoid the Dunlop’s and good years as they were too soft and didn’t last very long.

 

As for the Avon’s I ran a set of zv3’s on my t5 v70 and they were way too soft,didn’t even last 5000 on the front.

I replaced a set of Pirellis Scorpions with Avon ZV7 and they are miles better.

Avon's it is then. The zv5's on my 45 transformed the the NVH. The Sunny tyres specified by the previous owner made such a drone that it sounded like wheel bearing failure.

Incidentally, the ones I bought are back to made in England. The sidewall is resplendent with a Union Jack.

Is zv7 the sporty one? I have just had a set of zx7's to my works discovery and they seem pretty decent.

ZV7s on my xantia for all of 2 weeks before I sold it for not much more than I paid for the tyres (as is the autoshite way) and they were pretty ace, I did try to get them to spin and stuff at junctions and they had none of it!
