This 5k mile mk1 Mondeo deserves its own thread

I wonder if it's ever had a cambelt lol

60k on a silver top, probably not then, the belts are quite thick, themselves they rarely break, even when they've gone over the interval. It's usually the idler seizing that chucks the belt off.

What!!!

I’ve slightly higher mileage one at 67k. Hopefully values will skyrocket and I’ll be quids in. Once it’s shagged out or rotten hopefully some dreamer will give me £9000 in about 5 years time. Well that’s my pension plan anyway...

I saw another one recent on fleabay it’d done about 70 odd thou, admittedly it was tidy but no more rustfree than the one I have. Anyway he wanted £1500 on it. Out of curiosity I asked him what he’d give me on mine part ex, explained it’d never been welded etc and had no rust whatsoever. He said he could about go the £500 for it, presumably then to go on and stick it on eBay for £1500. In his dreams!

Does anyone think with these like how Mk2 Granadas etc have become a theft target for banger racing could Mondeos go the same way?

Got to love the optimism in that advert.

"First reg on 24 August 1996 ... THIS CAR IS BRAND NEW"

I've always wondered what a 1996 cambelt looks like, and 1996 brake fluid, 1996 coolant, 1996 tyres etc

And since that advert doesn't say any of that has been changed in nearly 21 years... I'd probably trust a 100k 1996 car on all of its original stuff more

The SI cars, for me, are ‘the ones’.

Red more appealing but this looks great: properly advertised at KGF it would probably fetch the money almost immediately.
