Rover 75 Diesel OR Rover 75 Petrol (v6) for sale.

You pick!

Both cars are connoisseur SEspec and have most of the good bits.

Diesel one: 85,000 miles or so. Bit of lacquer peel on the roof, front and rear bumpers are scabby but have been the whole time i’ve had it. Bought in 2016 with 55,000 on the clock. Does 42mpg combined. Auto. Rebuilt gearbox last year.

Petrol one: 106,000 miles. I’m the second owner and this car has been pampered all its life. Folder with all paperwork including original bill of sale in 2001. Very clean MOT history. Bodywork has giffer marks. Driver’s seat doesn’t quite sit straight (it’s the seat itself. It straightens up if you lower it). All electrics work including aircon and powerfold mirrors. Also auto, box could probably do with an oil change as it’s smoother when warm than it is cold.

Sale purely to make room for a rather special 75 replacement that I’ve got the opportunity to buy.

Make me offers for either car - they’re both great and I don’t mind which one stays.

Right chaps, i’ve got to get serious about this now. A purchase has been agreed for something new so one of these has to go.

I’ll start by doing a proper write up for the V6:

Owned from new by an old boy and his wife. Sold to me in February this year as he had to give up driving. Lovely folder full of history from the original garage, and latterly a Rover specialist. It’s a connoisseur SE so it’s got heated memory seats, cruise control, electric rear blind, powerfold mirrors, etc... It’s a 2.0 KV6 with no overheating / cooling / HG issues at all. It doesn’t lose coolant, and doesn’t appear to use any oil (I’ve done 2k miles in it so far). Engine is lovely and smooth, and is a nice relaxed drive with the auto gearbox. Aircon is lovely and cold.

As with all old cars it could do with a bit of fettling. The outside has been giffered, but still looks very respectable. Driver’s seat doesn’t quite sit straight, however it straightens out when you lower the seat - so could probably do with a new driver’s seat. Purge valve is noisy for a couple of minutes on a cold startup - if you unplug the purge valve before starting it sounds fine with no tapping or rattles. Exhaust does sound like it might have a slight blow, but no mention was made at the MOT. Autobox could probably do with a fluid change as the changes are smoother when it’s warm than when it’s cold (when its warm you genuinely don’t notice it changing gear, apart from the sound).

Anything else just ask. I’d just like to invite genuine offers.

Photos and area would be helpful as would a price guide.

These can vary from err £25 to £3,500.

Photos now attached!

Car is in Aylesbury, bucks.

It’s a well specced and well maintained average mileage car with giffer dents. I think £1500 would be expensive, £1200 average & £800 cheap. However, I need it shifted and I’m open to genuine offers.

I think I sold my launch car cheap at £850. It was bloody lovely and sold within a few hours of listing.

Good luck with it. Looking forward to seeing the new one. (Hopefully it's the ex RUC limo I saw a few years back)

Mines just passed the MOT  and fortunately you are a long way from me.

Can confirm they are a lovely car to drive, your pricing is correct and your car looks very good.

I paid £650 for my Tourer and an extra £100 for a towbar.

Mines a diesel manual, I would prefer one with an auto box though, a clutch can cost more than a car.

Shitting Norah, that maroon coloured one is absolutely spanking.

Your car is lovley, should sell quickly. Have you bought the one with Aubergine personal line at the top of the photo?

That was a belter, aubergine personal line is the best colour ever.

I can't believe I've bagged it. It is my ultimate 75!

Could be mine to. I like the launch cars but the interior on your new one is spot on.

Ok guys - both of these are off the market. Seller of new car has reneged on the deal.

I don't know whether to be happy or sad for you.

Gazumped?

Apparently not. Sentimental value.

I've been promised first refusal in the future & I did ask if there was anything I could do to sweeten the deal, but alas no.

My V6 is now booked in with the specialist for some proper fettling :)

Shame but i would not be unhappy with the two you have.

Exactly :)

I'm happy and will be happier when the V6 has its niggles sorted & then I can get the bodywork as good as yours ;)
