VW LT Collection story (so far)

My experience of LT1 gear changes is that they vary from shockingly poor to really quite good (esp. for a stick that's nearly 3' long). And what makes the difference is the condition (or indeed, presence) of small neoprene/urethane balls and bushes in the linkages. (See http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/forum/lt-35-gear-linkage-parts_topic73963_page1.html for part numbers.)

(Apologies to John F if he has already done all this and the problem exists between the gearstick and the driver's seat...)

PS: Welcome to the beige. Winning choices in island of residence and vehicle!

Bloody hell, is that a speaker on the floor in the back there? They were screwed down...!

I'd be more concerned about what happened to the chip pan

Nope, I didn't give the gear linkage anything more than a cursory inspection (where I couldn't identify much slop in the system, although I suspect some does exist).

That being said, I didn't find the gearchange all that bad to use once I'd got used to it. Although it wasn't anywhere near as precise as the one in the LT28 I used to have.
