Thought I'd share some gems that have been through work this last week. I work as a salesman at a rural Ford/Daihatsu dealership and we do get some interesting stuff coming through from time to time.

Late Safrane 2.0 came in p/x yesterday. MOT just expired. Getting rare now though.

Kia Clarus - belongs to one of our MOT testers. Its his daily drive, but I don't think he appreciates the utter shiteness of it. Didn't tell him I was gonna put it on here just in case he 'didn't get it' and took offence!

Mazda 626 saloon - Came in p/x today. Can't remember the last time I saw a 4 door version.

Particularly shitey Supra came in p/x on Tuesday. Circa 150k on the clock with ticket to November. PM me if anyone is interested in buying this heap. Seems to drive ok. And contrary to the badge on the back, this is a non-turbo model.

Tidy Subaru Pick-up that we have looked after for a long time. In for a new steering rack!

Non shite Aston DB9 in for MOT and service. Because that'll help resale value having a Ford stamp in your service book! Its only 4 years old with 10k on the clock!

Nice Mercedes Benz 220SE for MOT. The owner has quite a collection from 1930's Bentley's and Alvis's to a late 90's Mercedes G500 with plenty in between!

Great spots, I'll have the Plymouth with my favourite door arrangement.

Um, will you take £1.32, a tissue (non-pig flu infected) and a bit of fluff?

As my boss would say... "You have the decimal point in the wrong place!" Good start though.

So what happens with the cars that come in for PX, like the Safrane for example?

We have a local trader who normally takes all the tat away. Fortunately he's not too fussy as there are some real pearlers on occasion! If they are really nice though we'll generally have a go at retailing them. Because we are a small dealership we don't have a strict policy on how old or how high mileage a car is.

..Fair enough - Glad they dont just get scrapped!

What happens with these scrappage cars then from a dealer's point of view?Do you have to scrap them if you take the government's £1000? Or can you just pay them back if you get your £1000 back for it? I noticed a '74 Vauxhall Magnum on ebay which they said was P/X d under the scrappage scheme.

Unlikely given that the scheme hasn't started yet (next week I think...)

I expect the scrappage deal for this is on hold pending meeting a large reserve :(

yea being a bit of a viva nut, this is not a bad looker, alas its not worth much more than what its already up to £710. :? . shame because I dont think it is going to reach its reserve of a zillion pounds, frankly I am supprised its not advertised as RWD DRFIT NOT ESCORT... yadda yadda

One flat packed magnum 4 door saloon about to appear in a yard near you, all because of some gravy train knob jockey in westminster getting a quick hand jobbie from the motor trade. couldnt make it up could you.
