Dumb question about XUD engines.

Hi shitterZ.

I've got an engine from a 1994 Pug 405 1.9d to go in my 2000 LDV Pilot. both have a 1.9 XUD dizzler engine. Should be a fairly straightforward swap BUT some exhaust/inlet manifold gaskets on ebay for the Pug engine have two big square ports for the exhaust manifold and seemingly the LDV has individual round ports. I haven't actually taken the manifolds off to check yet, the Pug engine has a big round thing attatched to the underneath, if that helps identification.

I guess if the manifolds cant be swapped about then i'll have to swap the heads instead.

Any resident XUD perverts got any info?

Possibly a dumb answer, but the bolt holes and general shape of those gaskets look the same. I would get the gasket that matches the manifold and whack it on anyway?

Cheers guys, hopefully they'll be the same and this will simplify the job quite a bit!

Any ideas what the big metal round thing on the bottom of the manifold could be? It's like an expansion chamber or something.

The cylinder head is the same so don't panic.

The euro 2 Pilots, with EGR, used an exhaust manifold from a turbocharged XUD9TE and bolted the down pipe to the triangular flange. This manifold has the lower type gasket, the rectangular type will leak.

Hope this helps.
