I use that hammerite stone chip for everything it's brilliant. I just repainted the seat bases and runners on my cortina with it and the came up a treat.

3200 is a barg man, as you say its got loads of new gear inside for a start. I paid £3000 for my Talbot I think, sold it for slightly less, maybe £2700, and TBH it was a fuggin awful vehicle, although to be fair it didn't give me any bother. But you just know the rust bug is beavering away at its structure 24-7-365.

Have you got a chemical shitter in this thing?

No bog. I can hold on for ages!!

I didn't want to cut into the shell for any reason- Campers usually have cutouts for fridge vents, roofs cut out for high tops and stuff and usually the rust creeps from around here and lets in damp. This should be like looking after any other rusty old car hopefully.

Use the hammerite stuff for wheels too- quick scuff down to key, batter stonechip on until its filled all the pits,800 wet and dry until smooth then paint with your chosen paint, hopefully not black.

So the Hammerite paint is brushed/rollered on? I was hoping it would be possible to do that as I'd expect it to be less hassle than spray cans.

Edit: This stuff?  http://www.halfords.com/motoring/paints-body-repair/scratch-repair-paint-restorers/hammerite-stonechip-shield-grey-600ml

I'm totally converted to the way of vans now, it's taken a long time for me to see the point but I completely get it now.  Just need to finish off the bed in mine and it'll be ready to use, although lots of other jobs will need doing in the long run.  The Hiace isn't quite so happy at 80mph as your Vito - it will do it but its real comfort limit is about 70mph, which is fine for me.  It won't spend much time on motorways anyway.

Not hopping over to Mulhouse for the museum for a day?

Also, the Fox Hat seems is no longer exactly identified!

Done Mulhouse a few years back when seeing the Black Forest on my ZZR1100. Bugattis do nothing for me :( Hope to pop in to Zuffenhausen and Dachau though.

Exact address deleted. I'm easy to find though.. just follow the oil stains..

Had our first overnight in the Vito- up through Glencoe, with a stop to watch the jets training. Headed up past Fort William and out to Mallaig. By nightfall it was horizontal rain and blowing a gale. We were nice and cosy, chilling out litstening to the waves crashing over. Van was brilliant, fridge on all night as well as the Eberspacher on low,and battery still at 11.9v in the morning so fine for what we need. Need to sort out storage a bit though, places for everything to save having to go outside to get something out the back when its raining. Thanks to Roscoe too the inside is covered in white hair. One of thse days I'm gonna shave him bald- he's just a hair factory..

Wondered why we were the only ones parked facing the water- woke up to line painting squads and cones, they were redoing the car park starting today..
