Wilkos 'The Best' screwdrivers

Bought a few of these six months ago. Normally I avoid anything called 'the best' but I've got to say these are amongst my best screwdrivers, proper comfortable handles, strong blades. Any other experiences of them?

They're tape measure is as good as any branded equivalents I've seen at double the price.

Not been to Wilkos in ages so thought I'd have a look at their website

These are a fiver or exactly the same with the same crappy plastic thing for a quid from the pound shop.

I've the same set, bought about 20 years ago and branded as Stanley. The Phillips/cross-head screwdrivers are made of extremely soft metal and are utterly useless. I now use the flat bladed ones for opening paint cans and the Phillips ones for stirring them. I should really throw them out.

Having said that they're untypical of Wilkinsons' tools - most are pretty good for the price. Equal to or better than the quality of B&Q's, but much cheaper. Teng and Snap-on won't be losing sleep over them though.

For a fiver though? Depends what you use them for, if it's average joe using them once every six months to swap a plug or whatever they'd be fine.

I'd say the 'best' ones are on par with my Halfords ones.

The old Stanley tools are good, I have picked up individual screwdrivers when needed in good condition form the flea market for 50p - £1, they are a permanent resident of my toolbox. I could buy new but I have to have most things old 'because it's the best'. And I'm awkward when it comes to stuff like that.

A green handled long reach Stanley pozi screwdriver is one of my favourites, there's fuck all it won't undo.
