Renault Kangoo joy*

I needed a van quick, so after a quick trawl on the usual sites I came up with this beauty on Gumtree.

The guy was selling it for 'his brother', perhaps because he would have been embarrassed at the amount of crustiness on the sills.

The clock says it's done 181,000 but it doesn't work, to further complicate things there's another set of clocks on the floor behind the seat. It drives OK, everything works, it was minus a radio but I found that on the floor too. A quick search on the web revealed a code and now that works too.

It was filthy, as the pictures show, although cleaning it is the automotive equivalent of rolling a turd in glitter it at least makes me feel better about driving it. It's a 1.9 diesel, ticket till July, tyres are good enough to last that long and it was £350.

I don't really know if that's good or not but it seemed OK to me.

350 is a MEGABARG for any van with a bit of test, I got 450 for my last Berlingo and it was on 221k and 90% more minging.

1.9 is the n/a diesel yes? If so thats a win as I think the 1.5dci is a bit grenadey.

And here's the interior, it's not too bad now, it drives OK, there's no power steering but I like that really, just like* a race car.

I did look at a Berlingo, the owner who was really helpful, said he would take £300! I was tempted but put off by the glazed rear doors. I've had my other van broken into twice recently, so don't want to advertise the contents. This Renault drives much nicer too, the Berlingo, while cheap and usable was a poor example.

Yep, it's the 1.9, it runs great, not showing its mileage at all.

'At least it isn't the 1.5'
