Purchasing a breaker from Copart

Basically my daily driver is great mechanically but is poor on quite a few of the body panels due to the previous owner having a fight with a wall.

Been on the look out for a Rover 75 tourer (or MG ZTT) in silver for a while and thought I'd search copart as heard it mentioned on here before.

At the local one in Wolverhampton, they have one that I'd be interested in.

Before I start the process of trying to become a member, does anyone know if you can visit site before hand to check the car out?

Likewise if the car drives (not sure from advert) can you drive it away or does it have to be delivered.

Any info would be great.

Cheers

I know of a few people who have tried and given up, it seems to be some sort of bent 'old boys club' but others may have different experiences.

I would avoid copart. After all the fees and the cost of membership you will find the actual bid price will be a lot higher when it does actually get auctioned. You can inspect the cars but only by appointment as they have to get the car out and put it in a viewing area, knowing copart they probably charge for this. I have never asked if you can drive the car away but it is unlikely that you would be able to as they don't  drive them at all, everything is moved by forklift and the battery will most likely be flat at the very least.

Id scour Gumtree/Ebay for an MOT fail, you shouldnt need to pay more than a few hundred at the most, then if youve the facilities to, strip it down.

If if the car runs  they will not let you drive it as they are  salvage dealers  not car dealers    ,

legally  to drive away a car from any dealer  it needs to be insured taxed and mot'd and basicaly fit for the road
