The irony is that spec wise it is possibly the best - big pez estate.

I know.... Sad fact. Although it is a 2.4 petrol it still manages close to 40 mpg on a motorway run at 60 ish. The autobox is really sweet also. Engaging cruise control at 65mph has given just over 41 mpg on a long motorway journey many times. Although I never would have believed that before I bought it!

As above, I don't get their lack of desirability either. They are real nice cars, very well built and generally lean towards the 'Can't kill them with a stick' category. 

 

If I were in the market for an estate, I'd go for something pez like this rather than the so-called prestige Germanic usual suspects.

 

Sadly many people these days can't see what's right in front of their faces as they've been so blinded by fashion and advertising. Guess you can't educate pork.

My 3 series touring was top spec, low mileage, one owner, great condition BUT is petrol auto. It still does nearly 50mpg on a run and even though the tax is £290 a year it would still take me years to recoup the difference in price it would have cost to get an equivalent dizzler. If I come to sell it I don't doubt it will hang around as long as the mother in law but so be it.
