Pillock Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 YO.A friend of a friend is after a car in a bit of a hurry. Requirements are thus:Small - Fester/Korsa sizedCheap - Max budget is £1000Reliable - must be ready to drive away with no 'needs fettling for next MoT'Not bothered about age, make, colour or anything, just basic transport. Obviously newer the better though and years tax and test a bonus.Anyone got anything lying around? Chairs!
Spottedlaurel Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 I’m guessing that a nice 1987 Bluebird 2.0SLX with low mileage wouldn’t be considered a small car? No? Shame. They’d have a fair bit of change from £1000 to pay for its slightly higher running costs.I’d have thought you really want to be getting in touch with Vicsmith.

'96 VW Polo 6N(?) 1.0 enginepeppermint green12 months MoT 120,000 miles'no frills' motoring - basic & not terribly fast but frugal & reliable.some scabby bits along rear valance and leading edge of the bonnet, but otherwise generally good order....£500Located SG18 bedfordshiretoo cheap/old?
Pillock Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 Personally I'd love the Bluebird, unfortunately I also love my testicles and don't feel the two would exist together in this household :)I shall pass details of the Poolo on pog... is it a car known to you, or just one you've spotted in the local rag? Sounds like it should hit a spot though.
Pillock Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 Oh and is VicSmith registered on here or over on RR? I forget.....

Pillock Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 Right. It's on the maybe list. The spec was spot on, but despite being told in my brief "Colour, make and model don't matter" the response to being told it was peppermint green was "Ewww". I thought a Minty Polo was pleasingly subtle. The explanation is that the friend of a friend is a woman and so whilst colour doesn't matter, it has to be the right colour Put it down as a 'don't hold onto it, but you might get a PM if other things fall through', ta
