The ones that got away.

You sound like the sort of bloke who knocks on my door.

They also think I am a tosser.

Haha trust me on this one. Turns out a mate of my dad has known him all of his life and he has always been a bellend.

It is a shame to see a once decent and certainly valuable car turning pink, lacquer peeling and being reclaimed by nature, when I have it on good authority it has not moved in about 3 years, belongs to the bloke in question and he told me himself he is "looking after it, so why would I sell it?"

Clueless. Plus, I am not the type who would offer scrap money. If it ran I would pay a few grand for it.

So maybe I am not the sort of bloke you think.

I wasn't suggesting rigger boots and a Transit beavertail.

One persistent guy turned up about every two months hassling me about my Sierra and I was always pleasant until the day i'd worked a day and a night shift and managed to get to a couple of hours sleep when he came a Knockin.

Didn't help my mood that I fell down the stairs still half asleep only to see this grining idiot on my doorstep again. "are ya gonna sell me that car yet mister?"

He's not been back since.

Fair play.

TBH I would probably have rocked up with an A-Frame or day insured it :monkeycoveringeyeseomji:

Maybe you should have done what this one did to me and just told me to FRO, from the off!

A Renault fuego turbo from Big Mikes quality used car sales in Stockton for around £79. A mate bought it and flogged it on for around £700.

Used to go and have a mooch around the place (and Big Mike's Darlington) in the early 1990's - he sold some terrible rubbish. A mate bought a  1977 Capri 2000 Ghia for £295, I bought an A plate Uno there, and sold the Darlow branch an A plate Yugo 311 (Fiat 128) with a fucked gearbox. High rollers.

Tatra T87, sight unseen (apart from a mid-80s photo of it), 2000 Euros. Much too young at the time (considerably under driving age) and parents entirely unimpressed with the notion of forking out decent cash for what could be a total pile of rubbish... so blew money on a Volga instead.
