WARTBURG RESCUE MISSION

Recommended Posts

A friend of mine emigrated to N.Z. He owns a Wartburg 311 1958 that been off the road since 1997, now the farmer where he have his car wants to clear out the barn, so I and friend of mine went down to have a look. The car was in a surprisingly good condition after 12 years, engine turned around and no mould. The best part is that it is free.

Here are some pics.

Gorgeous car - I love that interior, especially the luxury wooden door cappings alongside the painted metal dash! Nice save.

Wowsers. There also seems to a certain amount of Western capitalist decadence about the cushions in the back matching the door pockets and the side of the seat squab.
