What is it?

The car or Shepton Mallet??? ;)

The car is a Skoda Favorit GLXIe Flairline... Check out them superlatives!

So cringy it's cool, so crap it's credible...

I'm tempted to go on Saturday as not sure I can be arsed with the NEC this year.  I'll be in the Senator if I do make it.

I went a few years ago and enjoyed it, the chod laden car park being a highlight.

Not a bad show to be fair, and the lighting is far, far less orange than the NEC.

My favourite Brizzle moment was turning up one year and meeting a chap with a fantastic Lagonda from the 1950s. He'd put an Essex V6 in it. "Well, I need to rebuild the original engine and I just wanted to use it. I think I upset the purists."

Anyone going to Shepton Mallet this weekend?

I knew a chap who lived there. He called it Shit'n'smellit. How rude!

If it was in Bristol I'd go. Just bath & west showground is nowhere near Bristol (or Bath for that matter!) and a nightmare to get to.

Pffft! Try commuting to it from Peterborough. In a Saab 9-5 on the way there (lovely) and a clapped out Iveco Daily on the way back (not quite so lovely).

Well I will be there on Saturday unless the weather looks really shit, the 204 is all fueled up and ready to go. Hopefully it will be worthwhile and they are doing discount tickets for classic car owners at a fiver insted of 10 quid on the gate.

Not a bad day out, didn't find anything useful in the sales but there were some nice motors out on display in varying conditions.  I ran into panhard65 a couple of times, shame Rob's Senator was too much of a damp icebox to make the trip worthwhile but it was a cold day.   Despite that, the weather was ace and it was a great round trip in the Puma.  I love that car more every time I drive it and treated it to a quick scrub and wax at the local Kosovan car wash when I got back.

Spotted this outside the auction hall...I wonder who's that could be?  Not many guesses seeing as there's only one of them in the UK!

Tidy 5 wearing later Clio hupcaps waiting for the auction to start.

This was also up for auction and was wonderful, an absolutely spotless 1.3L, it looked entirely brand new, there wasn't a mark on it.  18,000 miles on the clock and still wearing its original rear tyres.

SD1 and Carlton in the auction hall, people were poking around the SD1 and taking several tries to close the driver's door.

This was a monster, absolutely huge, very scruffy and fairly desirable.

I had to stop looking at this one and wander off when I overheard someone say to his mate "Ah, worst example of British Leyland right there...".  It was actually very tidy, not sure what engine it had though.

If I could take one car from this show home, probably would have to be this one...

Not knowingly haunted...

Was attracting witty quotes like "Surprised to see a Strada that hasn't rusted away".

It was nice to bump into Phill again and there was quite a turnout today. I forgot my camera so no pics but Phill got the highlights. The Strada was in lovely nick and I followed the BMW back towards Bristol, he was driving like a girl mind as I could even keep up with him in the Peugeot. The little Pug clocked up 40.000km as well today and is running really well even if the heater is shit.

Yeah I did try and make this. Got as far as the M3 but the borked heater matrix just made the Senator mist up constantly, plus it was bloody cold. 300 mile round trip was starting to look a chore so headed home.

Looked a good turnout. Predictably the Carlton and Cav would be my pick.
