I think Bub is Thurrock. So not much further.

He's proven once and for all you just can't get around this country quickly - even in a skoda.

Sat on platform 9 and 3/4 waiting for hogwarts express. Its safe to say ive missed the saint pancras 2030 train now

From Thurrock at 8.07 to Kings Cross at 8.33 ?

I is confused.

i had a pre booked ticket for 2030 saint pancras to nottingham. I planned to catch the 1934 train from ebbsfleet to st pancras. M1 put paid to that

Bub has gone well beyond the shitters call of duty on this one. Someone give him a knighthood.

Well done Bub.

Egg you need to stay good pals with Bub if you don't like venturing out of Kent but like buying cars lol

I think I might have broken Bub's resolve with this epic. I apologise to the forum!

Yeah, the pre-VAG Skoda has a rev counter and the Mondeo doesn't...

I now have three cars and no off road parking. Neighbours will love the Skoda.

I've been outside Kent twice in 18 months. There are reasons - but not worth going into on here!

Sure there is one of those Silverline's around Southend-on-Tat but I can't think where I see it.  Will pap it next time I see it..

Park them in neighbouring streets. It's what I do, and as long as they're legal people can swivel!

Just to tidy up the full story....

I got a train from home to Ebbsfleet this morning and picked it up. A+++++ driver and seller!

Drove it 50 odd miles home - first impressions are positive - feels mechanically very well sorted, no power steering is a bit of a shock - but I'm getting used to it. The engine has real character and the all round visibility is amazing which makes it very easy to drive. Can easily cruise at 70 (as Bub found out last night) but 55-60 is more comfortable.

Thanks again Bub/Walter.

Glad you like it.

55 to 60mph is perfect isn't it, chatters away at 2500 rpm or so covering the miles returning 45mpg.

I am really pleased to see Stinky go to an fan of these cars. I hope you have lots of fun travels in the bargain car that does just what you need from a car all for the price of two months Personal Lease plan on a new car.

70 ish is still in the green zone. I found it danced a little on that stupid shiny slippery road surface thats sometimes down but apart from that it was fine.pedal offset is peculiar but a very torquey little motor.

yep, good old fashioned low down torque. 70 still well in the green zone as you say.

Hope you can catch up on some sleep Bub!

Yes it is not a very wide footwell either. Glad you got on ok with it Bub, it would have been an even longer night if you couldn't stand driving it.. :-)
