Had any of my cars been treated as much as nearly like this by those there motoring scribblers, there would be HEADS ROLLING!

Who do those clowns actually think they are?

And if treating other people's cars like that wasn't a lot more than enough, just fucking READ the intellectual arse gravy of the highest order

they then muster to squeeze out of their shitty little minds!

I haven't paid a penny for their unqualified drivel in years and after this SCANDAL I'm more than ever inclined to impute that nothing but

profile neurosis has taken over an entire guild. They should be ashamed of what they made out of the writing arts, but I assume they don't

even know what shame is.

If they want to see money from me ever again, they better get their act together, big time!

Comments digested.

This wasn't something I was involved with, but I know a couple of the people involved. At the time, I pieced together that CCFS had gone to Scotland from social media. We may be mates, but we don't talk shop for obvious reasons.

Not sure about the edit of the video at all.

My two bits worth.... I can completely understand why foad is pissed. Had the samara developed a problem after being thrashed by the individuals involved, and not have been fit for sale, or reached reserve, he'd have been returning home with a damaged / wrecked vehicle through no fault of his own and been out of pocket. As it happens he managed to sell the vehicle and turn a profit. Ultimately there would appear to have been some underhand tactics employed by the persons involved. Tracking the samara to the auction house and blagging their way to getting test drives, which were ultimately nothing more than a joyriding session, hasn't done the journalists or the auction house any favours. Motoring journalists do on occasion push vehicles during tests, but it's generally with the consent of the owner. This debacle was not with owner consent, and it has left a bitter taste. To be fair the reviews were not too bad and Calum was complementary - in a tonge and cheek sort of way. The entire video and article would have been acceptable had the vehicles not been thrashed. Had this been the case I don't think foad would have been just as pissed.

What people dont seem to realise is that the video was just a lark and did not represent the way the cars were treated. And that rhe commission was delivered to brief.

Re the journo/ expensive car blow up- IIRC Mark Hales was driving David Piper's porsche 917 on a track and the engine went bang. Things became legal and expensive.

Did Hales lose his house in the end? I know he was having a fire sale at one stage.

All that over a fluffed gearchange.

Surely a journalist/race car owner should have insurance for such an occurance? Or does proffesional/track insurance not really exist?
