Focus bonnet

Due to wear in the lock and key we cannot open the bonnet on my sister's 53 plate focus.

 

Apart from breaking things is there any way to open the bonnet?

If anything like a mk3 Mondeo, it is grille smashing time.

At least that is how my Ford tech mate says he deals with these.

Bust the grille off and a pair of pliers onto the cable/latch.

Might be able to get to the catch from underneath with some long tools but it's most likely grill smashing time

Missus Moogs Focus opens with flat bladed screwdriver due to the lock being rubbish. Try that first

Might be worth getting a new key made and try that one.

had this a few times,drench in wd40 and if you have a spare key try that,it should go with a bit of frigging,just remember anti clockwise first then clockwise,jiggling the bonnet up and down at the same time might also help.

converting to screwdriver seems to be the done thing.
