OBD diagnostic gizmo BIG SPEND

I know it's not as fancy, but does anyone have much experience with a cheap Chinese OBD2 Bluetooth adapter and Torque on an Android phone? Is it worth a go for reading occasional codes and turning off warning lamps once mended? Currently needed for a 2001 Astra.

Get a ELM327 v1.5 ( make sure it's a proper v1.5, loads of fakes now) and ScanMyOpel for android. You'll be able to then read+clear codes on the ABS, Airbag, ECU and other modules on your Astra. Torque only does engine codes.

Is there any way I can tell if it's the proper one? I'm buying it in anew Zealand so my options for retailers are a bit limited.

I think I will buy one of the Delphi ds150e interfaces after all. I was tempted by the laptop deal listed earlier in the thread but decided against it.

someone I know dowloaded an Autodata torrent last night and it looks mega useful, so the Delphi at 60 odd quid plugged into my existing laptop looks like a winner for code reading rather than an extra ton for a second hand laptop with autodata already on it.
