Enjoy the delights of Noel Edmonds road testing a yellow Datsun Cherry and a black T reg Renner 5 Gordini on Top Gear, and Mitsubishi dancing girls strutting their stuff alongside the new model range at the 1980 Motor Show at the NEC. Rodney narrowly avoiding a collision with a Fiat Strada in a classic episode of Only Fools and Horses, and some great old car ads. Loved it!

I watched this last night, the first half-hour is QUAL, then it descend into dreary talking heads bollocks about how good top gear is from the likes of Vicky-Buttfish-Henderson.

I caught the last half of this unfortunately. Murray Walker accompanied by foppish "Car Dealer" magazine journalists saying how good Top Gear is.I still have my old Top Gears from late 80's to mid 90's on CDROM, they were quality!

+1, although they managed to describe the Trotter-mobile as a Reliant Robin They also said the engine was 850cc, my Grandad had a succession of those Supervans and I'm sure they were 750cc?

Agreed. I still don't get why a special interest show should have broader appeal. The whole point of the BBC is to allow minority interests to be catered for.

+1. If you're going to have talking heads, at least make them relevant, e.g. who the f**k is this Sam Delaney idiot (trying to be a junior Will Self and evidently failing)? And VB-H still annoys the hell out of me.

Have you got that episode where Clarkson savages the newly launced Vauxhall Vectra? I would LOVE to see that again! Understand Vauxhall were furious with it.
