2MB Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 I live so close it'd be rude not to go, thanks for the heads up
Felly Magic Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 My mate Turnip will probably be there in either an Iveco minibus or his Leyland Leopard. It's always a good bash
Anglevan Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Just received my entry so see thee then. Will be the first proper outing in my Anglia !!!
AlabamaShrimp Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Yeah I'll be there and I've got some judging to do. Do this mean we can have an autoshite section? (but with no sign or anything )
sheffcortinacentre Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Should be there rarely miss it,think this is 40 th anniversary year.
AlabamaShrimp Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Sounds like a bit of a moan but I don't get how this has been on for 40 years but I've only been to the last 3. What I mean is it isn't advertised anywhere. There's sod all around town, posters and such like, saying when it's on. Saying that it still gets a very good turn out so people must hear about it somehow.
Anglevan Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I think it's only ever advertised in wakey express the week before. Once you've booked in once you do get entry forms. I've always paid at the gate before, first time I've booked in for a long time. All very old school with SAE and cheques. I think it's good on a Friday, and always very busy. Looking forward to it.
For Fiats Sake Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I'll try and get the day off for this! They only want 25 year old plus cars for display so that puts my later pandas out of the running! Never mind, I'll turn up in something choddy anyway.
Austin-Rover Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I went last year in a Rover 800 fastback. This time, it'll be a Mk2 Cav. It's a right mixed bag of vehicles, and you'll never see everything with people turning up and leaving constantly over many hours, but it's just a nice relaxed couple of hours.
AlabamaShrimp Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 They turned a good few away last year. Some lad in a pineappled VW had a proper sulk on as he had to turn round. As I've been before I had my car booked in ages ago. Just missed out by a few years so my Fiestas in section F with loads of other cars. Saying that I've no chance of winning as apart from a wash and vac out its going in its normal everyday rust and all condition.
Austin-Rover Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I've only ever turned up and paid on arrival at this show. Never had a problem getting in. Can't say I've noticed people being refused either? Must happen quite late on in the day I should think.
sheffcortinacentre Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 It started in the 70s as a classic commercial only show but for years has been open to all classics.
