Today was a car show, unlike the "How Many Left" show the weather forcast suggested it wouldn't piss it down so I grabbed my camera, jumped in the depressingly functional Civic and hit the road heading East, to the Broch.

Parking in the "don't have a good enough car to show or turned up late" car park was a new thing for me, as usual the car park contained some of the best spots but we'll do them last. I paid £6 to get in and later paid £9 for a burger, chips and a bottle of coke... Expensive shit this car show thing.

On arriving I was greeted by some Subarus, although a couple were 1st gen Imprezas which I quite like.

Erm, the 'Commers' are Ford Thames vans. But other than that little hiccup those are good pics of good cars.

Also saw TWO Acclaims.

The first of which I know the owner of, he recently sold his "CD" to a chap I know doon sooth and has replaced it with a mint condition "L".

DSC_0787%20Copy.jpg

He also gave me this, as I am Cullen's primary BL hoarder...

DSC_0835%20Copy.jpg

The other was the "Y" reg which I failed to buy in 2014, because I had no money. The current owner bought it in 2015 as a non-runner as the young guy who'd bought it had shoved on some alloys, fitted a huge stereo + bucket seats, tinted the lights and then shredded the timing belt...

It's now running again (non-interference engine ftw) and has been resprayed in the original colour + the old wheels and seats are back in it.

Here is a pair of tiny cars in British and Italian flavours:

I think the Duster is the two door fastbackish variant of the Valiant saloon. I might be wrong though.

Looks a damn fine day out.

I'd love to have a go in an Acclaim again.

Nice shots there :) Looked a good show. Food vendors often have to pay a small fortune to stand at shows, which they pass on by charging eleventy hundred pounds for a tepid can of coke and a cone of chips

Excellent pics and lots of nice stuff.

The red mk2 Granada is a mega rare Sport model, hence the (factory correct) white alloys. They did an estate version too believe it or not, which is even rarer.

The food was actually quite good, if not the cheapest!

I did think the white alloys were unusual. The owner actually owns that whole row of cars and they are all rather nice. He and his wife had to drive them down to the show ground a couple at a time over several days as I think he lives out near Inverness or something!

You didn't know the difference between a commer and a Thames but you knew what a ww2 Tilly was when most people don't.

Great pics there, Cap'n.   I reckon that key ring was worth the price of admission.

As for the Oxford owner, the polis should be all over him for that ghastly Oxford lettering too.   Nice rare car in lovely nick and he sticks poond shop letters on the wing instead of a £20 script.
