Spottedlaurel Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I bought a vast quantity of Motor once from an auction, about two thirds of the issues from 1950s through to its demise in 1988-ish and then Autocar & Motor up to the early-90s. I missed out on the first batch as I didn’t realise how cheap they would go for – I paid £4! Also found a few brochures in there which either bolstered my collection or got sold off. Most got chopped up for Japanese marque info as I simply couldn’t keep them all, and finding anything useful in them was a nightmare. Have got a big library of tests on all sorts of makes and models which I culled from them.Got a bit more space now so I tend to keep things whole - if ever you end up with a load spare Trigger do please let me know, I can easily collect from Ipswich.

Spottedlaurel Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Let me know if anything doesn't sell.I'd be interested in the What Car? mag's before you put them on eBay, I don't have enough of those.
trigger Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Just thought I'd update this and let you know I've been busy uploading a load more tests.Working on uploading the tests from my 1980's What Car? Magazines now. A couple of my favorites from the handing tests... Datsun Stanza with massive oversteer! And this to put you off Black cabs for life! (Look at the front wheel!
Guest Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 "Driven sedately, the Stanza sends the driver reassuring messages, with a smooth ride, firm steering and seemingly quick responses to the wheel. But in fact this impression of responsiveness is an indication of how quick the Stanza is - not to obey the driver's commands but to swerve, lurch, and ultimately slide out of control."And they give it 1/5 at the end! Mine drives alright to be honest, though it does have heavy steering and a rather poor turning circle.

andrew e Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 If only the black cab driver I regually follow through the back lanes coming off nights on a sunday morning would do that. Or even stay on his side of the road so I could get past.
