Anyone got or had any experience with the fairly current batch of these going about?

Are they up to the job of dragging shite about or are they made by Cadbury's?

The shit pressed steel hitch suggests they'll be crap. Get a secondhand intertrade one.

That's an A-frame, not a Dolly. (Dollies have wheels and carry the front of the tow car.)

It looks flimsier than any A-frame I've seen. Even I wouldn't trust that.

My "A" is the same as M.Bllx's, "Solomatic" I think. Proper robust, and heavyweight.

I've not looked but I bet there'll be plenty of good used ones up for grabs as people move on to more legally watertight alternatives. Like dollies. (Not that I like the look of them - The "A", or trailer for me.)

Thinwall 40mm box section - ideal for garden gates. Not ideal for steering and stopping 1.5tons.

Shit like that gives the proper ones a bad (even worse) reputation.

It looks fit for a garden trailer to tow behind a mower or quad.

PS, this is the "Dolly" witnessed at Crail.

It looks strong, but a completely flawed design. How they didn't writhe the axels/suspension off the cars on those East Fife zig-zags, God knows.

Didn't take too long for the general consensus to agree with my suspicions. I'll make me own.

And thats why dollies and a-frames are pretty much illegal - for every sensible person using a quality one within its capability, there are a dozen bellends using shit lashed up out of old garden gates to tow way outwith their own, their vehicles and their equipments limits.

There used to be quite a few of those about, they must use some sort of skid-steer arrangement!

Are these the ones built and designed in Ireland?

Cos it looks just like mine, and it is a great A Frame.

Properly built, great welds, quality hitch etc.

I have used mine a fair bit and can't rate it highly enough.

They list the materials etc used and it comes with a warranty.

Edit: it is the same company. I recognise the pic, now.

Do it. You can't lose, for the cost.

Nice and light and compact - as can be seen with it folded up in the Focus boot. Ideal for towing most cars.

Unfolded with the legs removed, mine fits in a Mondeo boot.

I think those hitches are only rated at something shite like 750kg for a start. That's 90% of cars you can't tow.

'Nice and light'?

That's the last thing I'd want, whilst towing a 1 ton car..

I prefer heavy/ solid, every time.
