Well today I was sutty2006's wing man in a collection of a badermatic volvo v70 dizzler from crawley, he won it on ebay in the week as he needed a Heather Mills spec diesel to get to his new job in. I took the pictures so I'll start the thread for him

Here he is at mine at 6am

The volvo is a nice motor, it's got a few scratches and scrapes and it needs a damn good clean inside but I'm sure sutty2006 will keep this updated

I know that car. Unless I'm very much mistaken it was in the estate just down the side of Horley train station.

Nice Volvo, and now halfway to Scotland ;)

Was the large Kenworth with small trailer from the American Circus. If it is, it's coming our way soon, so I must keep an eye open for the heavy haulage section :)

haha I see the picture of the Yank truck, me in the fast lane trying to get the driver to honk lol .

It drove the 200 miles home no problem. Didnt miss a beat. Everything seams to work, for now. Electric window switch is buggered so i'll need a new one of those, and possibly a driveshaft as its noisey when turning left.

Its philthy inside. In dire need of an epic De-pogging inside.... gross. Havent done anything to it yet, been a busy boy this afternoon. Will update soon! Going to try get a fresh MOT on it in the week.

Car came from Crawley.

^^^^  Ah okay. I used to see it parked up in Horley regularly, only a couple of miles from Crawley. I definitely recognise the KLM plate and throbbing purpleness.

Looking back, I do remember thinking it was a well cared for thing, always looking clean and sharp.

Congratulations on the purchase and for getting out of Crawley. I lived there for a bit. A bit was plenty.

ok so i chucked it in for MOT last week and it failed on rear brake low performance and handrake inop one side. Its had new rear disks, pads and a caliper, along with some tweekery of the handbrake.

So, with a fresh MOT, I wanted to know what the horrid grinding noise was when turning left. I was preparing myself for worst case senarios. has the diff shit itself? Has the box shit itself? has the inner CV popped its clogs?  NO. The drivers side lower engine mount had collapsed, causing the engine to drop when left cornering and letting the crank pulley nudge the subframe. Marvelous. £30 off evilbay for a new mount and it drives like new! Well happy.

Pictures to come when internet behaves itself.

The most important part of your tool kit is missing in the strip down pic, where is the brew?

I make mine when I have finished the work, but before I tidy up. I find the amount of time it takes to go back out, get the car down, clean up, pack up, and get the cars back on the drive, is just about right to brew the hell out of the teabag for a nice robust cuppa.

actually the brew is just out of shot stood on the wheelie bin  :D

That's OK then, I was quite worried about you for a while there
